Fit For Icons Foundation
To continue to deliver on our mission of giving back to keyworkers, “Fit For Icons Foundation” is developing its own charitable giving programmes that offer practical help and support to workers in health, dentistry, education and social care. These programmes include education support grants for equipment and materials, financial hardship aid, mentoring services, advice services, and practical support for mental and physical wellbeing. Funding is from our retail business, public, private, and business donations, as well as our own sponsored initiatives and events.

Creating An Equal And Equitable World For All Humankind
We wouldn’t be who we are without recognising our accountability and responsibility to help level the playing field in terms of equal and equitable access to keyworker services. That’s why we champion and support charitable causes that provide direct access to health, education, dentistry and social care programmes in developing countries too.
We are totally committed to our mission of helping to create a world that is kinder and fairer to the many and not just the chosen few. So our foundation has been set up to undertake a range of Initiatives that support delivery of this mission:
Jog2Jab
Jog2Jab is a sponsored jog or walk of 3k, 5K (or any other distance you’re up for) and is the brainchild of one of our fabulous keyworker ambassadors, Dr Dinta Thakkar.
Dinta and her colleagues have been pioneering the event in the West Midlands where it has already proved to be a huge success. This event will be rolled out regionally in 2023, so check out our foundation for details of an event near you and how you can help. All proceeds from these events go to supporting global vaccine equity programmes. Donations to Jog2Jab’s JustGiving page can be found here

Tiny/Mini Mudders EVENT
Access to Education - Our Tiny/Mini Mudders initiative is an event involving schools, parents, and children aged 3yrs to 11yrs. Children undertake a 1k, 2k, or 3k obstacle course designed to get them active and have fun whilst raising money for charity. Running, jumping, throwing, climbing and crawling are just some of the activities they take part in, whilst having the time of their lives. An online version of this event will also be available for families/schools, community groups to undertake in their own homes and environments to increase access for all.
Details of this event and how to enter are on our foundation website. Proceeds will go to "Actionaid" who work globally to ensure that children receive the quality education that is their right’

ACCESS TO SOCIAL CARE - Street Children

Mini Helpers is an initiative for children of any age who are sponsored to carry out chores set by parents/carers over the course of a week. All money ‘earned’ will go to:
“Street Kids Direct”, which is a social care charity that rescues street-living children and prevents at-risk children from living on the streets.
The concept for this initiative came from seven-year old Madeleine and five year old Matilda, the daughters of one of our awesome doctors. After a discussion about people who are homeless, the girls wanted to help children who didn’t have anywhere to live and asked to do chores at home for money. They then donated the money, to Street Kids Direct.
We actively encourage the participation of young people in our groups to develop future charitable enterprises in their local communities that promote equity, equality, kindness and fairness in their peer groups.
We’re supporting Madeleine and Matilda grow this initiative through “Mini Helpers” and "Humankind Kids' to develop awareness of giving back in our children. Further details of these initiatives and how your children can get involved can be found out our foundation website.

During the past two years, Fit For Icons has donated over 10,000 pieces of PPE to keyworkers
In response to the PPE crisis at the start of the pandemic in 2020. Fit For Icons Director, Tessa Wilson, set out to help her frontline doctor daughter by providing facemasks. As demand for PPE quickly turned into a national crisis, Fit For Icons set up an army of over 400 volunteers to sew facemasks, scrubs, scrub bags, headbands and ear protectors for any frontline keyworker that needed them.
Over the past twenty months we have given away more than ten thousand items of PPE to every keyworker profession imaginable.
Although this venture has now ended, it led to the creation of the Fit For Icons business and our not-for-profit foundation, whose mission is for equal and equitable access to keyworkers services globally.
Our retail business provides a way for us to fund the foundation and support charities delivering direct services for the holistic wellbeing of our keyworkers. It enables us to give back to the amazing icons that battle in challenging organisations, environments and cultures, not just through the pandemic, but every single day.
